Rachel Lamarche M.A. is a Ph.D. Candidate (All But Dissertation) within the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University School of Marketing, Economics, and Finance examining the relationship between veganism and fashion consumption. She has lectured in Fashion Merchandising, Sustainability in fashion, Fibres and Textiles, Ethical consumer movements, Fashion Marketing, and Market Research at both RMIT University and the Australian College for the Arts (COLLARTS) where she currently teaches. She has a bachelor’s degree in Fashion business from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a master’s degree in Arts Management from RMIT University. She worked as a stylist in Montreal, Canada, and in public relations at luxury fashion house Stella McCartney in New York and Paris before moving to Australia in 2013.

Pre-Covid, Rachel co-founded the Vegan Women’s Collective and was the host of its eponymous podcast on which she interviewed entrepreneurs and activists. She is now focusing on publishing case studies and academic papers while finalising her Ph.D. at RMIT University. In November 2022, Rachel ran in the Victorian State Elections as the lower house candidate for the Animal Justice Party in the Inner-North seat of Brunswick.
